Finding Time- gift shopping Gift shopping could yield an extra 25 minutes per/item. (see shopping) As we dive into shopping as a way to find some extra time we should start by saying that shopping is a good thing when that is exactly why you are going. You feel like going to a store, or mall, and wondering around to look at things to touch and feel. Maybe there is a special event coming up and you want to find that one item that needs to be looked at in person. Shopping online is fine, but there is something to be said for “going and doing.” It’s not a time saving thing in the first place but it is a good thing.
Shopping for staples and gifts Where you can find time is by shopping online for items that are rather everyday, or gift/staple items. These items require making a special stop in your day, in effect breaking your day’s rhythm. If you can keep to the major points of your day and have the finer points done and out-of-the-way for the week free time will find you.
The issue that we find with this is that we have to wade through all the internet junk to get to the things we really want, and quickly. This is why we have picked the companies and categories we have for the "Finding time shopping" page. Their good quality products delivered on time. As you may have noticed on our “Finding time shopping” page there are a few groups starting to form. Each is a “stop” point that may put a crimp in your day’s schedule. Each area does not happen all the time so it’s rather expected and unexpected all at the same time. This is particularly true around Christmas or, in the case of my extended family, birthdays. I have six birthdays within a two week period. This schedule killer can also happen when young families with kids are considered. How many of you have had 2 or 3 birthdays on the same weekend day and had to shop for a silly little gift? Shopping Groups With this in mind you will likely see categories begin to form. Kids, adults, spouses, gifts, food tips; these categories are listed because they are ideas that can put time back into your schedule. Gift ideas are the target at the moment.
Although picking up a gift may appear benign enough it is still, in all probability, a half hour adventure if driving-choice-driving is considered. If you can simply pull up this site and point/ click, along with the possible inclusion of other point/clicks, you’re golden in a series of 25 minute savings for each (or an average, but you get the idea.) Sure, the first time you have to give the old credit card but once your set, your set. With the page right there just bookmark the thing and your drive time to the store is done. The real trick is to know that multiple items are needed for the coming week and to do them all at the same time so you can “bank” the time for that coming week.
